About Me
I am in my late 40s and a non-smoker with two daughters. My eldest is in Sixth Form at Stanborough and my youngest is in Reception at St John’s, Digswell. We attend St John’s Church, Lemsford.
I started work as a student nurse at The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, London. I found nursing stressful, although I enjoyed the company of the children and babies I nursed. I have sound knowledge of first aid and am confident dealing with babies and children of all ages.
Since having my first daughter in 1990 I have been a full time mother. She did not go to playgroup or nursery and we spent her first five years learning about the world around us, experiencing as many different things as we could. She is very happy at Stanborough School in WGC and doing extremely well. My second daughter was born in 2003. She attends St John’s C of E Primary School and dances with Carol Allen.
When my eldest was at Primary School I helped in her class, voluntarily, for 2 mornings each week. I thoroughly enjoyed my brush with teaching. I am an LEA appointed Governor at Springmead Primary in Panshanger. I also fit being a local Councillor around my childminding activities.
We have a 14-year-old Maine Coon cat. He is a large, fluffy, gentle cat who enjoys the company of children. We have no other pets.
